I first knew of Amy Greely through Helen Winnemore's, a gift shop I worked at where they carried her work. She creates gorgeous sculptural jewelry pieces that are modern metal-wrought interpretations of the natural world. Then, I got to meet her when she and Bee Skinner of Warm Glass Wonder came to do a pop up show at the shop.
They were both kind and warm, and incredibly encouraging of me and my work, as I had only just launched SquidCat, Ink as a real business. It was so wonderful to have two artists whose work I admired and whose businesses I looked up to encourage me in the early stages of my journey. And, it was even more wonderful that upon seeing it in person Amy was willing to carry my work in her shop!
I chose your work because of its heart. The illustrations are absolutely adorable and your cheerful sense of humor and sweetness shine through each one. So uplifting! Squid Cat Ink has been a customer favorite for several years.

Now you can find my work in Amy's charming shop, New Leaf, nestled in the heart of Brown County Indiana. I had the chance to stop by as I was passing through the area, and stepping into the shop feels like stumbling upon a charming magician's cottage, filled to the brim with a beautiful collection of unique and heartfully made local and regional artisan works. It is the cherry on the top of an incredibly lovely town, and I highly recommend you stop by if you are ever in the area!
