It's been a while since I shared a little back story of how my cards get created, so I thought I'd give you a little glimpse into the history of one of my newest cards: the cupcake parade!
When I first got started with SquidCat, Ink, I doodled this little cake stealing party of mice as a potential birthday card design:
Somehow, it didn't quite work for me. I loved the big rats and their funny teeth, and the little mouse being carried away by the balloon, but IĀ was wary that perhaps not everyone would find them as cute as me. In the end, I forgot about it and the drawing stayed ignored in my sketchbook for a good 4-5 years! Recently, I was flipping through some old work looking for inspiration and came across it again, and thought that with a little tweaking, it would still make a great card, and so I decided to give it a redraw. You can see the results below!
